Their consciously refined style ensures the materials speak for themselves. They are fortunate enough to source their deer hides from a world-renowned tannery in Timaru, NZ. This locally farmed deer leather is described as the ‘silk’ of leather, it’s incredibly soft and luxurious.
Sionell designed, cut and constructed her first bag collection for Notion from a small studio in Dunedin, NZ. The latest drop was still made from 100% Deer Nappa leather from NZ and was made in Australia. As her materials were once living beings, she is particularly mindful of waste. She creates in a way that ensures minimal waste and is very wary of overproduction. This provides a foundation for fresh, new and highly developed designs that ultimately showcase Sionell’s creative freedom.
